Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

She looks to the sun
Help her to carry on
Braking down all the years
Wondering how she got here
She drifts through the sky
Counting the reasons why
How my life turned so fast
Remembering all of the past

She looks to the stars
Breaking, time to follow the heart
Her world is falling apart

And the turning of every new page
A book on a shelf that is there to remain
Breaking the walls as she's tearing them down
And she is starting to drown

She's waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting so long

She prays to the Gods
Telling how she needs someone
Help me find where I am today
Life is looking very grey

All the changes, all the mistakes
Foolishly laughing at things that
Everything that she says

I'm waiting for a new day to rise
Conversations to make sense to me and my mind
I need someone to lift me right off of my feet
And I want it, and I need it, and I'll leave it all behind

And all the changes I've made
And I remember the words, that you'll never say..

Obsession, take another look.
Remember, every chance you took.
Decide, either live with me
Or give up - any thought you had of being free

I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you
the only thing I ever really loved, was hurting you.
I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you
the only thing I ever really loved, was hate.

one of my friends got "invited" to this free trial make-over + photoshoot thing at bugis area. i tagged along. and because the place reminded me of a time share place, i shall attempt to draw the parallels:

1. Leads (database of people for telemarketer to call)
Friend got called by some minah-sounding girl. Managed to convince the fool to come down. Poor me got dragged along. couldnt tell us how they got his number.

2. Deck (sorta means place, in this case the studio/gallery).
Empty place. Chairs/Tables all around. Computers by the side. Hmmm.. reminded me of someone's office. This was when I went "shiiit.. time share-y!"

3. Warming up.
Pretty girl, with studio-make up (she was getting her portfolio done, or so she says) sat down, talked to us. I wasn't being cooperative. I was.. dragged, remember? Talked to us about everything under the sun, except of course, what the studio was about..

4.  The Tour
So we got his make up done. He looked like a faggot. Got the photos taken. Had lotsa fun. Went around to different colored-themed studios.

5. Sizzling
Sat us down. Showed us the photos on the computer... turned out nice, suprisingly. Asked for the price. She called her sales executive.

6. Pricing
Was kinda.. cheap. or so it seemed.

7. knowing customer's affordability.
The sales executive asked my friend if he had a credit card. And here, both of us went, "HUH?!"

8. Back-end
Told us about everything the package consisted off but not the actual price. I got irritated, so i spoke up. Something along these lines, you do the math:

. 1 free poster of made-over self
. a longish 3R photo album full of your photos against "designer" background (eh helo. photoshop'd background), about 100 photos.
. 2 costume changes or something like that

cost:

$200 X 12 months
+ $500 initial fee for the photo album.

- $100 if we had 10 names for referrals (thats how they got his contact...)

didnt add up.

so.. we walked out.

oh and we had the free gift too of course.. .in this case, the 2 shots they promised in a cdR...

..
name of company:
The Foto Gallery Pte Ltd@
67 Beach Road (opp shaw towers)

u get a phone call from them, turn them down.. unless u got nothing to do for 3hours...

============================

the above time share-y /sales lingo information was shared by dr-psycho. Thank u, sire.

http://freedomeden.blogspot.com/2007/07/boycott-live-earth.html

Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series taking place on 7/7/07 that will bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis. - from the LiveEarth Website.

This is how I see it:

2 million people watching tv or at the concert, 2 million people being couch potatoes (instead of actually doing something useful like tree planting, volunteering their time with some environmental organisation) or 2 million people littering, wasting resources.

I'm not a green thumb myself, but it doesnt take much to figure out the amount of energy/electricity used to light up those stages and plug in those speakers. And the amount of traveling done by audience and performers alike, by exhaust-emitting vehicles.

I didnt watch the concert by the way.

Its a bunch of bull.

Sounds like Algore trying to gain some votes for the next presidential election.

Hard-handed approach should be taken instead.

Do not entertain us. Scare the living daylights out of us. The best way to reform is:

1. Reprimand
2. Limit "benefits"
3. Show the mistakes
4. Show alternatives.

For e.g.:

Slowly but surely Singaporeans are quitting smoking. Because the prices are crazy I tell you. Of course, if our neighbours were vigilant enough or raised their prices too, the process of "cleaning up" will be faster.

So its just the idea of GLOBAL COORPERATION. ration us, put us under curfew. call it dictatorship. if we have about 100 years before we are all under water (i made that up, couldn't find any proper figures), something drastic has to be done.

and live earth's website is absolutely useless.

we need something like this:

http://www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/issues/

but like i said, im not a green thumb. ill die before i even reach 50, promise.
